When I think of a long weekend I think of sitting on the couch, or going out to eat with friends and family. But oh no. The only luxury I get is that I don't have to pick weeds. But anything else is a possibility. So here is a Mercedes at the junk yard. This one has a manual transmission. As you can imagine this is pretty rare... Mercedes force fed the automatic to everyone by the 80's. So this engine has a manual attached to it and my friends wanted it for their Mercedes. So we went to the junkyard to pull this engine. It is nice pulling an engine from a throwaway car because you don't have to be careful. We slashed the wires and the hoses, we even slashed the tires just for good measure. So here is the engine, hanging there. This was actually cool. From now on I will be able to say that I have pulled an engine.

Well, two weeks before I need my car to drive back to Orange County the brakes crap out. Wonderful! The one time I need my car to work it breaks. I can take the bus to work every day, but no bus to Orange County. Luckily, I disocvered this brake problem on tuesday. Therefore I could order the parts from Heritage Garage on tuesday night. That means they ship out wednesday and will get to me on friday. Its now saturday, I have received the parts and I do believe they are the correct ones. So now comes the fun part. Time to go sit outside cursing at my car and getting all dirty and getting brake fluid all over me. Yuck.
